While part of the RISD Media Group I worked with other members of the team to transition RISD.edu from an old .NET CMS to a static site generator. We wanted to get out of the cycle of long term re-designs holding the site back from new features and attempted to transition to a system that was more nimble. Each content type and visual element on the site was transitioned into Sketch library for faster proto-typing and so design ideas could be tried out more quickly. The site was redesigned slowly so when it finally launched it was not the subject of frustration from regular users of the site. The design system also transitioned into mobile friendly templates and introduced more contemporary search tools and interfaces.
